#CubaOrBu$t Part 5 plus more!

FEVER BARN RECORDING
This has been a VERY COOL week! I have had the pleasure of recording a couple of tracks (one R&B and one spanish tune) with some VERY COOL CATS who have been very influential in the music “BIZ”! What wonderful genuine bunch of gentleman rockers.
First of all, pianist, composer, and arranger Mario Sprouse of Diana Ross fame, along with Scott Spray on bass and Bobby T on drums (Johnny, Edgar Winter, Grace Slick, these guys have played on everybody’s recordings). Rounding out the new family are a couple of “new” guitarists, composers Corrado Nebel & Mr. blues ala Hendrix Ryan Newman. I am floored by the music coming out of theses individuals.
Running the board is Russ Landis. The awesome men running the show are Jon Grossbard (Fever Barn Recording Studio owner, NYC music mogulwho has worked at Electric LadyLand Studios) and Executive Producer and all around great guy Scott Struzinski.
I am blessed and grateful for this huge experience that not only creates magical and beautiful music but also builds incredible relationships. I am so happy to have a bunch of new rock n roll brothers!

MIAMI
Today Joan (my partner and director) leave for Miami to work on the documentary (see previous blogs). The purpose of the visit is to interview my Aunt Amelia (my father’s sister-in-law) who is a glorious 88 years old beautiful lady and knows my folks from the early days in Cuba. We are also going to my parent’s gravesites. Thanks to John Duquette of YABLA (Joan’s brother at www.yabla.com) we are working with film maker Pedro Blanco Uribe who has mega experience in worldwide advertising (www.tangerinefilms.com).
I really don’t know what to expect on this leg of the journey but what I do know is I’m going to go through myriad emotions with the opportunity of letting a lot of old wounds go. Don’t need ’em no more!
